Tandem Paragliding Flights
Your first real taste of flight
Ever dreamed of flying—not in a plane, but actually soaring through the air? Tandem paragliding makes that possible. With a certified USHPA instructor guiding the flight, you’ll experience the feeling of free flight while learning the basics of how it all works. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to step off the hill and into the wind.
Where We Fly
Depending on conditions and time of year, flights typically take place in two of Oregon’s most iconic flying areas (The Columbia River Gorge & The Oregon Coast)... see below
What to Expect
Before we fly, we’ll do a quick but thorough briefing—introducing the equipment, walking through the flight plan, and explaining what to expect during launch, flight, and landing. Then we gear up and head to launch. Once the wing is overhead and stable, we take a few steps... and the ground drops away.
Flights typically last 8–20 minutes depending on the conditions. You’ll have the chance to try the controls in flight, or just relax and enjoy the ride.
Why Tandem?
Safest and most accessible way to try paragliding
Get a real introduction to the sport—this is a flight lesson, not just a ride
Ideal if you're thinking about learning to fly solo
And most importantly... it’s pure, unforgettable fun
About the Weather
Weather is the biggest factor in whether or not we can fly. We typically start to see possible flying windows 5–7 days out, but the decision to meet up and see conditions in person is almost always made the evening before (and sometimes the morning of) your scheduled flight. Paragliding depends on very specific wind directions and speeds, cloud base, temperature profiles, and other factors that can shift quickly.
We’ll always keep you in the loop as the forecast develops—and if conditions don’t shape up, we’ll reschedule or refund. Our goal is to get you in the air, but only when it’s truly safe and worth flying. Some days we wait. Some days we send it. It’s all part of learning how to fly.
With towering basalt cliffs, consistent thermals, and panoramic views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and the Columbia River, the Gorge is one of the most iconic and reliable flying zones in the Pacific NW.
Eastern Gorge (Cliffside) – A local favorite 45min from Hood River, offering year-round flying when the wind cooperates. This site works best with east winds.
Hood River / White Salmon – Best in spring and fall. These launches require a short hike and are typically closed during peak summer due to fire danger restrictions. Work well with light west winds.
Coastal ridge soaring lets you ride smooth ocean air above cliffs and beaches. On the right day, it’s long, relaxed, and absolutely stunning ... plus, you might spot seabirds, whales, or seals down below.
